My artwork comes from a deep place.  Through my art, I voice my love of nature, my emotional expression and, in some cases, social statement.  It has evolved from an expression of pain to an appreciation of the beauty, complexity and interrelationships of all life and nature - including all forms of anatomy, organisms and elements as they are all one.  While very organic in form, a common theme in much of my sculpture focuses on relationships, both human and other.  I believe art should not only inspire and inform but also heal.  More recently I have begun to work with soft pastel working primarily on landscapes and exploring expression through color and mark making.

Bio

Ann has made a circuitous route getting to her sculpture career.  After achieving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in sculpture from Northern Arizona University, she was an active artist in the Verde Valley Community before moving back to California.  There she began a 30 year career in Marketing Communications (using her creative skills), raised her two children and practiced what art she could on the side including sculpture, photography, drawing and water color.  She was a volunteer at the San Jose State Fabrication Studio from 2011 to 2013.

After her move to Sonoma in 2013, she was able to build her art studio and focus on her sculpture.  Participation in the 2017 Art Trails Open Studios in Sonoma County was the launch of her business which includes sculpture, concrete garden art, pastel painting and floral photography.  She now has begun working in soft pastel as well.

If Ann isn't in her studio you might find her hiking with her husband and golden retriever, Ellie, volunteering with local women's giving circle and as a member of the Arts Guild of Sonoma Valley, traveling or otherwise enjoying the beautiful Sonoma Valley.
